EarthCheck members across Asia Pacific can now access specialist building performance services through EarthCheck’s partnership with RCI Sustainability Group, helping organisations investigate performance issues, identify practical improvements and monitor their impact over time.
The partnership brings together EarthCheck’s science-backed benchmarking and certification program with RCI’s building performance expertise and ECON monitoring platform.
Through EarthCheck, members measure and independently verify their sustainability performance across areas including energy, greenhouse gas emissions, water and waste, alongside management practices and other sustainability criteria.
Where those results identify an area that warrants closer attention, RCI can provide more detailed building performance audits and technical advice to help members understand what is driving the result and where improvements can be made.
For organisations requiring ongoing visibility, RCI can also deploy its ECON platform to continuously monitor building performance and help verify whether operational changes are delivering the intended results.
Stewart Moore, Founder and CEO of EarthCheck, said the partnership would give members another way to turn sustainability data into practical action.
“Benchmarking gives organisations credible evidence of how they’re performing, where they’re improving and where there may still be work to do,” Mr Moore said.
“But once you identify an area that needs attention, the next question is often why. This partnership gives our members access to specialist building performance expertise that can help them get closer to the source of an issue, take informed action and measure the effect of those changes over time.

Depending on the needs of each organisation, the partnership can support a progression from EarthCheck benchmarking and certification to an RCI building performance audit covering areas such as energy, water and waste, followed by targeted recommendations and operational improvements.
Where continuous measurement or longer-term optimisation is required, RCI’s ECON monitoring platform can then provide ongoing visibility of building performance.
ECON collects data from energy meters and environmental sensors and presents it through dashboards and trend analysis, allowing building owners and operators to monitor energy consumption and indoor environmental conditions over time. RCI’s broader monitoring services can also identify performance deviations and operational issues and support corrective action.
Shawn Jang, General Manager of RCI Sustainability Group, said the partnership was designed to help organisations move from measurement to a clearer understanding of what is happening within their buildings.
“Good data tells you where to look. The next step is understanding what is happening at an operational level and what can realistically be changed,” Mr Jang said.
“Our role is to work with organisations at that more detailed level, whether that means investigating an issue through a building performance audit, identifying targeted improvements or providing ongoing monitoring where greater visibility is required.

The partnership builds on cooperation between EarthCheck and RCI in the Asia-Pacific region.
On 29 May 2026, RCI Sustainability Group and the Taiwan Sustainable Value Co-Creation Association hosted the EarthCheck Taiwan Sustainable Tourism Launch Conference and MOU Signing Ceremony in Nantou, formally launching the promotion of the EarthCheck program in Taiwan.
The initiative is supporting tourism, hospitality, leisure agriculture, cultural venues and related sectors to introduce internationally recognised sustainability management and certification frameworks, with RCI providing local consulting, training and industry support.
The broader EarthCheck and RCI building performance service is available to certified EarthCheck members and prospective clients operating built-environment properties across Asia Pacific, including accommodation, attractions, convention centres, leisure agriculture, cultural venues and destination precincts.
