Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa & Casino this week joined an elite group of tourism business around the world by achieving the converted EarthCheck Gold status.
Over the past 10 years, EarthCheck has worked with more than 20 members in Aruba including Resorts, Golf Courses, Vessels and even Laundries. It is the most used and recognised sustainability label in Aruba and the leading Benchmarking & Certification program in the Caribbean.
“Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa & Casino has consistently demonstrated commitment to adopting responsible environmental practices and promoting the need for more sustainable operations,” commented Stewart Moore, CEO and Founder of EarthCheck.
“Attaining EarthCheck Gold certification is not an easy task. It requires commitment from the entire personnel to achieve better results in terms of sustainability each year. The challenge is to continually prove the integrity of an organisation’s operational practices and then be willing to have everything checked and measured by an independent third party.”
“Aruba has a proud history of working with EarthCheck,” says Rene Leonora, Director, Sustainable Solutions Aruba.
“Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa & Casino not only met the stringent requirements of EarthCheck for five consecutive years, they have inspired a number of initiatives in the community and shown dedication of their employees to achieving positive sustainable results.”
EarthCheck is an award winning organisation that has realised over $500 million in savings for their clients. By taking a credible scientific approach to measuring the effectiveness of their sustainability practices, Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa & Casino and Aruba’s other Earthcheck family members will be able to identify where they are out-performing other operators and where room for improvement remains.
