Environmental Action

We can measure your footprint, track your performance and create a scalable roadmap, so you can focus on doing what’s needed for the climate, nature and your business. The natural environment is often a primary driver for travel and experience, and the travel and tourism industry’s stewardship is vital for its survival.

How we can help

Carbon accounting and net-zero roadmaps

As the industry leading science-based benchmarking and certification service, we understand the challenges of decarbonisation – and we know where the opportunities are.

Our team can help you set your ambition and define your scope and boundaries; inventory and validate your Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions; and identify and prioritise decarbonisation and mitigation strategies, to create a scalable strategic decarbonisation roadmap with triple-horizon milestones to guide your transition to a carbon-free business.

Our online platform aligns with the GHG Protocol and IPCC Guidelines and is CDP-approved.

Climate risk and targets

Evaluate physical and transitional climate risks to your business within recognised frameworks, such as the Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, and establish the governance, strategy, risk management, metrics and targets needed for action aligned with the Paris Agreement to avoid the worst effects of climate change.

Science-based targets

We can walk you through the process to understand how much and how quickly you need to decarbonise to set and declare science-based targets for your business.

Why this is good for business and good for the planet

  • Operational: Reduce costs by improving resource efficiency, conserving energy and water and reducing waste.
  • Reputational: Enhance your business reputation and relationships with customers, investors, employees and community stakeholder groups by reducing environmental impact.
  • Regulatory: Help your business comply with existing and future regulations on carbon emissions and climate change.
  • Reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are essential to mitigate the impacts of climate change
  • The transition to renewable energy will reduce air pollution and improve public health and the environment.

Acknowledgement
of Country

There are more than 476 million Indigenous Peoples, found in all regions of the world, from the Arctic to the tropical forests. They make up more than 6 per cent of our global population.

In the spirit of reconciliation, EarthCheck acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout the world and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Indigenous Peoples today.

EarthCheck acknowledges that Indigenous Peoples are guardians of the forests and biodiversity hotspots we all depend on. Research shows that lands managed by Indigenous Peoples, with secure rights, experience lower deforestation rates, store more carbon, hold more biodiversity, and benefit more people than other lands — including protected areas.

We recognise and support the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), the most comprehensive international instrument on the rights of Indigenous Peoples. The Declaration is a positive document that maps out a path for Indigenous Peoples to be free from discrimination and secure in their identities and life choices.
