EarthCheck’s entry-level program helps businesses align with the sustainability expectations of their guests, suppliers and destinations.

About EarthCheck Evaluate

EarthCheck Evaluate is a simple, practical program for SMEs starting their sustainability journey.

As an entry-level program, EarthCheck Evaluate is a self-guided assessment of an operator’s economic, social and environmental impact. The program is the product of 15 years of market research through our flagship certification, EarthCheck Certified, which has helped our members realise more than $500 million in savings.

Participating organisations are awarded an EarthCheck Earth Rating out of 5 to recognise their achievement level.

The process

1. Commitment and policy

Complete the self-guided assessment to help you address:

  • Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Policy
  • Benchmarking and Performance
  • Governance
  • Sustainability and Energy Approach
  • Communication

2. Data submission and diagnostic

Upload your consumption data to our portal, including:

  • Energy use
  • Water use
  • Carbon Emissions
  • Chemicals
  • Community and employee impact
  • Paper use
  • Waste
  • You can also add your own custom indicators

This diagnostic will give you access to real-time information, help you make decisions about critical issues, and take action.

3. Verification

Once the diagnostic is complete, simply submit your data for verification.

4. Achieve

If verification is successful, EarthCheck will rate your business and provide the relevant EarthCheck Evaluate logo.

5. Outcomes, and re-submission if desired

You now have the diagnostics to make decisions and further your business’s sustainability policies.

You can also resubmit your evaluation during the year to upgrade your EarthCheck Evaluate Earth Rating.

You are now in the perfect position to become EarthCheck Certified – the certification program embraced by the world’s most recognised tourism and travel brands.
