Nature Strategy

Effectively managing nature impacts, risks and opportunities is essential for businesses navigating today’s regulatory and societal expectations. Our nature strategy service can be delivered as a standalone solution or as a holistic service that incorporates nature assessment and mapping. We help you align with global frameworks, set measurable targets and create a bespoke roadmap for action, integrating nature into your broader sustainability and corporate goals.

How we can help
  • Develop a bespoke nature strategy aligned with frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Taskforce for Nature-Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), Science-Based Targets Network (SBTN), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the UK’s Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) initiative, natural capital accounting and nature-positive processes.
  • Translate dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities into a clear vision and mission.
  • Establish goals and targets using recognised nature metrics (e.g. Mean Species Abundance and Proportion of Natural Habitat), develop transition plans and integrate these with existing sustainability and corporate strategies.
  • Identify actions to prevent harm, reduce and mitigate impact, restore and regenerate nature, and implement nature-based solutions with expert guidance.
  • Develop signature nature projects or partnerships to achieve positive impact.
  • Prepare your organisation with the tools for data collection, management and disclosure.

Our dedicated team work with you through every step of the process, supporting you in defining your ambition, scope and boundaries. This includes aligning with frameworks such as the CDP, selecting a baseline year and assessing the granularity of available data.

We guide you in collecting the necessary data, validating it through our online platform, and applying recognised methodologies and emission factors to ensure robust estimates. We also assist your team in establishing processes for long-term tracking and improvement.

Our bespoke services can create a holistic roadmap by helping you establish nature-focused targets, prioritise impactful strategies, engage stakeholders, develop internal capacity, manage and audit data, align with frameworks, and report on performance.

With more than three decades of experience, our expert team has delivered science-backed sustainability strategies and consulting services. We offer a comprehensive one-stop shop for developing a bespoke nature strategy tailored to your business needs.

Why this is good for business and good for the planet
  • Integrate and strategically address nature impacts, risks and opportunities that may significantly affect your financial performance, value creation and reputation.
  • A clear roadmap helps measure, manage and mitigate nature impacts in a time- and cost-efficient manner.
  • Protect, enhance and regenerate nature with tangible positive impacts that also create a genuine, meaningful experience for travellers.

Acknowledgement
of Country

There are more than 476 million Indigenous Peoples, found in all regions of the world, from the Arctic to the tropical forests. They make up more than 6 per cent of our global population.

In the spirit of reconciliation, EarthCheck acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout the world and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Indigenous Peoples today.

EarthCheck acknowledges that Indigenous Peoples are guardians of the forests and biodiversity hotspots we all depend on. Research shows that lands managed by Indigenous Peoples, with secure rights, experience lower deforestation rates, store more carbon, hold more biodiversity, and benefit more people than other lands — including protected areas.

We recognise and support the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), the most comprehensive international instrument on the rights of Indigenous Peoples. The Declaration is a positive document that maps out a path for Indigenous Peoples to be free from discrimination and secure in their identities and life choices.
