Brisbane developer gains international recognition

Brisbane, Australia. Riverfront is a unique townhouse development positioned on the junction of Albany Creek and the South Pine River. The award-winning project offers buyers the chance to live among 11 acres of private landscape with exclusive river and creek frontage.

The project was recently recognised as a Special Mention honoree in the Architizer A+Awards. In their 10th year, the A+Awards is the industry’s largest and most recognised international awards program. It honours the best architecture and spaces from across the globe. After an unprecedented number of submissions were reviewed by the jury and the global public, the latest collection of winners forms a vibrant celebration of outstanding design throughout the past decade. Out of the thousands of submitted projects, less than 5% were chosen as Special Mention honorees.

Developed by Brisbane-based Lucindale Holdings. Riverfront allows homeowners to benefit from renewable energy solutions, rainwater harvesting and improved air quality while enjoying unmatched space within natural, green surrounds.

Lucindale Holdings Managing Director Marcel Russ said the company had deliberately integrated innovative sustainable design principles throughout the project to provide positive, regenerative, and sustainable contributions to residents and the local community.

“Our design approach acknowledges the uniqueness of the location and its environment and incorporates several measures to reduce energy and greenhouse gas emissions, conserve natural resources and minimise waste generation and pollution throughout the planning and design of the development,” said Mr Russ.

O’Neill Architectures Director Justin O’Neill said that the firm’s goal was to deliver a design that empowered people in the way they wanted to live.

“We recognise the importance of perpetuating sustainable design principles and shaping a healthy lifestyle by integrating homes into their environment. Riverfront’s masterplan realised the full advantage of the site’s unique location, maximising functionality and engagement with the surrounding greenspaces and extensive communal space. Smart passive design features and innovative technologies created highly liveable townhouses. These features minimise energy use and water wastage while providing natural light, cross-ventilation, and increased views. Sustainability aspirations were incorporated from initial stages to completion to produce a future-focussed development fit for the new generation of environmentally conscious homebuyers.”

Along with the A+Awards recognition, Riverfront also has gained design certification from the internationally recognised EarthCheck Building Planning and Design program. The certification was based on key sustainable initiatives for each home that included no net loss in biodiversity.

Home buyer Paul Abad and his family chose to purchase within Riverfront after discovering the unique blend of stylish terrace homes situated within an expansive green space.

“The inclusion of solar, water tanks and all the green space with orchards and vegetable gardens really impressed us and gave us the feeling of modern suburbia paired with a mini eco-village,” said Mr Abad. “Quality of life for our young son is important, and we think he is going to love having all this space to explore.”
