Sustainability Policy

EarthCheck is the world’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group for travel and tourism. Since 1987, we have helped businesses, communities and governments to deliver clean, safe, prosperous and healthy destinations for travellers to visit, live, work and play. We understand the value of big ideas and the importance of clear communication.

As a group of qualified sustainability experts, we know that what can be good for the planet is also good for business. We assist governments, businesses and destinations to deliver clean, safe and prosperous destinations through our strategic consulting services and technology solutions as well as through our certification and capacity building programs.

EarthCheck Headquarters is located within a business building in South Bank, Brisbane, Australia with close proximity to the Brisbane River. This location provides no known threats to the surrounding environment.

We are committed to following the criteria contained in the EarthCheck Company Standard. We encourage our staff to maintain this commitment to environmental responsibility in our daily operations and we seek support from our customers, service providers, business partners, contractors and suppliers to deliver improved environmental outcomes.

EarthCheck is committed to ensure local and fair trade goods and services are purchased where available., We give special consideration to employing and empowering staff from the local community and source products and services where possible from local producers and suppliers.

EarthCheck strives to achieve gender equality within our workplace and ensures that all employees and interns are treated equally and fairly in every aspect of their employment. We endeavour to provide flexible working arrangements for our staff.

We have appointed an EarthCheck Coordinator, who has the responsibility and skills for monitoring our ongoing environmental performance. A dedicated Green Team has been established to assist in the reporting on the organisation’s environmental performance, mitigation of environmental risks and monitoring environmental initiatives and sustainability programs.

EarthCheck is committed to continually improve its environmental and social sustainability performance by an annual benchmarking evaluation and certification through the EarthCheck program. EarthCheck will comply with all relevant legislations and regulations regarding sustainability and will strive to achieve international best practice in any of our organisational sustainability requirements.
